Cop Out

This week’s Flix Critic Buzz 02/26/10 staring Bruce Willis, Tracy Morgan  in Cop Out:

Review – Peter Ricci- FlixCritic writer

Cop Out hit the funny bone on the mark. Big up’s to one of the funniest comedies to hit the screen this year. Cop Out combine the comical efforts of Tracy Morgan aka Paul Hodges and the MVP of the film Sean William Scott aka The Thief Dave. Then Add Bruce Willis aka Jimmy Monroe Die hard edginess making this film a way balanced buddy cop movie with all the stops.

The Crazies

Review – Peter Ricci- FlixCritic writer

To start from the top The Crazies is NOT a Zombie film, it’s a virus that infects the mind and the body.  It’s a little smarter than that. The film is quite interesting. It makes you think OMG; what if that really happened? Our government would cover it up like that and keep it moving. It’s a scary thought actually, especially with germ warfare in today’s age. You never really know if your town is under the microscope for a test study or not. Hey what’s 1,200 people population anyway, right?

Shutter Island

Review – Peter Ricci- FlixCritic writer

It’s one of Leo’s best works to date; I can actually say I got lost in the character since Leonardo first came on the screen with “What Happened to Gilbert Grape.” Don’t get me wrong, Leo is an extraordinary actor, the only problem is you always see Leo and NOT the character he portrays until now. This may be the first Oscar worthy film in Leo repituar of works.

Wolfman

Review – Peter Ricci- FlixCritic writer

All hype and no bite. It likes a bad porno that leads you on, but you stay limp the whole time. I’m not sure if you know, but ‘The Wolfman,’ has gone through a series extensive rescheduling, re-shooting and re-editing, which has really help to show the issues in hand. Too much tinkering has taken its toll for this weak remake of a Universal classic release this weekend.

Valentine’s Day

Review – Angela Ricci – FlixCritic writer (Edited by  Peter Ricci)

This is a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Garner, Ashton Kutcher, Patrick Dempsey, Jessica Biel, Taylor Swift, Shirley MacLaine and many more is a roller coaster of people flashing by as the story is like snippets in a ‘Movies For Dummies’ book, yet the film is entertaining and fun, it’s lack the basic’s, cohesion, which leads us to Director Garry Marshall who chopped, slapped and pasted this film together.

Percy Jackson and the Lightening Theif

Review – Peter Ricci- FlixCritic writer

Where do I start on this film? It struggles to find a consistent balance throughout the 2 hours of screen time. Even with Uma Thurman [Medusa] and Rosario Dawson’s cameo in the film, it still had so many major flaws, such as director Columbus.

Percy aka by Logan Lerman, the Zac Efron look-alike who instantly annoyed me from the jump, he’s too cocky, irritating and snider to be a teenager who’s deal with identity. He’s was not the right person to be cast as Percy, there had to be someone better, Logan just didn’t get it, not at all.  Logan is tiresome as Percy, son of Poseidon (Kevin McKidd) and a mortal (Cathleen Keener) who subsequently married a local lout (Joe Pantoliano) in order to,” mask the smell of Percy’s blood.” I was disappointed with Cathleen’s acting as it came off weak.

From Paris With Love

Review – Peter Ricci- FlixCritic writer

Hey thanks John Travolta for helping us find the first movie that is worthy of a Razzi next year. Your over acting is a sure tell sign that you need a break from the screen for a year. This movie is dreadful. So let me help the cash paying public and say if you want to pay for sleeping, being bored to tears go see this film now. If NOT, stay home or go to a better written film that doesn’t have so many plot errors and storyline issues I stopped counting.
