Tyler Perry accomplishes the most serious film, taken from the 1975 play by Ntozake Shange“For Colored Girls.” It’s a riveting, heartfelt film entirely of poetry, so make sure you have yourself in tune before stepping out to watch this film. It may be a little hard to understand if you are not a person of poetry, but the film is magnificent.

The film takes you into the lives of a handful of black women in various walks of life, facing a crisis. Most of the dialogue is mainly of normal spoke conversation so don’t let a little poetry scare you, but be ready for one of the most unique films to hit the screen and it comes from Tyler Perry’s new 34th Street productions. The movie explores moments of tragedy, and monumental turning points as these ‘Colored Women [Girls]’ women open up their souls with brutal eloquence.
