The Expendables is nothing less than pure adrenaline, high action injected with testosterone. The mangasmic array of Viagra induced action stars infiltrates the screen, taking names and numbers. Sylvester Stallone has found his nitch again and has decided not to take himself too seriously anymore. Stallone is the writer-director-star, but he has finally found the magic formula. The out of control action blood fest is like being on a roller-coaster with all the tricks, flips, loops and boomerangs, basically it’s a lot of unholy fun.

Brooklyn’s Finest

Brooklyn’s Finest, is about three cops and their journeys as cop on the police force in New York. It’s a real man’s film, a “meat and potatoes” genre film like “Training Day.” Why the comparison, the same director, whom I’m a fan of, Antoine Fuqua. Antoine has a real knack for this genre. It’s hard time on the streets of Brooklyn. Now these men aren’t bad guys, not precisely, but they occupy a world of such unremitting violence and cynicism that they’re willing to do what it takes to survive. It’s a formula film of sorts.
